They travel between the territories of Santa Muerte and Quetzalcoatl endlessly searching for chaotic battlefields. The Calaveras cast a spell that accelerated the battle to a gruesome conclusion before walking away without a word or a moment's hesitation. When approached, it is said that they appear to be in a state of flux between lucidity and delirium, a persona who is persistent about who they are or who shines at times, and at other times they seem empty and can only offer strange speeches. But when attacked or trying to be moved, the aggressor will be immediately dispatched. Now the Calavera have been seen as a force of nature, predictable as the tides and drifting like the breeze, but like lightning they strike indiscriminately

Our mission

We see how big the game industry is. At the same time, it limits the players because of the one-sided economic model that everyone has been using. Continuing the practice of centralizing game resources and not paying dividends for time spent in game will discredit the game community in the long run. We believe that players should be full participants in the development of the in-game ecosystem, with ownership rights over resources and earnings for the time they spend in-game. This makes it possible to create an exceptional gaming experience as well as facilitate a completely new and open type of interaction between users, developers, and investors, where everyone has an impact on the development of the project. Thanks to this approach, games become more than just seasonal entertainment, but a large living ecosystem that can grow sustainably and with growth potential many years into the future. In turn, we as the development team must ensure that the project economy grows as smoothly and continuously as possible during the initial stages, until it can organize and support itself independently without additional incentives.

All the above game features are made possible thanks to NFT and blockchain technology. Almost all resources in the game will be ERC-721 NFT tokens, which will directly belong to the owner. Owners in turn are free to use it fully as they wish: for example, they can own or trade it. Each user will be rewarded with ERC-20 $eRIA tokens for the time they spend in the game. Just like NFTs, they will belong to their owners, who will be able to own or sell them. The $RIA token, as the economic backbone of Calvaria: DoE, has the same capabilities.

Main game mode

Single player campaign. This is an optional but useful game mode. Here, users explore the history of the game universe, proceeding step by step through levels from easier to more difficult. All battles in single player mode take place against the game's artificial intelligence. Players can receive prizes in the form of unique cards or power-ups for winning matches, which they can later use in "Player versus Player" mode.

Player vs. Player. This is the main game mode in Calvaria: DoE. This is a playable battlefield where two real players compete against each other using deception and strategic planning. Here you can use various unique cards, power-ups, and collectable NFT tokens to increase your chances of winning. To win the tournament, the player must defeat the enemy army in at least two rounds. Users are rewarded with $eRIA tokens for winning spins.

The competitive nature of this skill-based game makes it very suitable for esports. This is an important consideration to ensure the growth of the game and its community. That's why in the future the game will be filled with seasonal competitions with large prize pools. We also plan to hold various third-party tournaments from partners and sponsors.

We also began to notice that problems began to appear among "Play to Earn" games that also became clear to many investors and gamers around the world: Most of the games were too simple or not developed enough to provide real enjoyment. Game projects are launched for the hype they generate, but are short-lived, because they do not have a realistic vision or plan. As soon as the prize is reduced due to changes in the market value of assets or changes to the reward system made by the development team, most projects experience a drop in interest because their products fail to attract a large audience.

First of all, we understand that there is no compromise when it comes to quality. The $RIA and $eRIA tokens are ERC-20 tokens which are the main currency of Calvaria: DoE. The $RIA token is a project ecosystem token, which serves to maintain the economic stability of the system. While $eRIA, like in-game currency in classic games, will be credited to players during the game. Both tokens are suitable for trading on exchanges and will also be truly owned by project users. Neither we, as game developers, nor anyone else will be able to take tokens from users without their knowledge and consent. This is the main feature of the "Play to Earn" system. By spending time playing Calvaria: DoE, players will be able to earn really valuable and rare currency, the value of which will grow over time by attracting more and more users to the game.

Considering the above, we decided to make a card game because of the popularity of the game and its moderate learning curve for new players. In addition, to increase interest and engagement, we have created a unique setting and companion narrative about life after death, which is a frontier rarely explored by games. If we prioritize player enjoyment and make the "Play to Earn" mechanic a secondary motivation, then the project's longevity will be guaranteed by an ever-growing audience.
